Garvin Jellison (Light Design) is a Lighting Designer, Electrician and Production Manager in Minneapolis, MN and Chicago, IL. In Chicago, Garvin has designed shows with The Artistic Home, The New Colony, Seanachai Theater Company and Honey Pot Performance. He was the electrics intern at Lookingglass Theater Company from May to August of 2011. He has also worked with Theatre Mir, ChiArts, DCA Storefront, Court Theater, Sound Investment A/V, Lookingglass Theater Company and DePaul University. He is a staff electrician at DePaul’s Merle Reskin Theater. Garvin specializes in lighting for dance. As a former dancer, he works closely with dance companies to create unique and spectacular productions tailored to the needs of dance companies. He also works extensively in lighting for theater, performance art and musicals. Garvin graduated from St. Paul Conservatory for Performing Artists in 2009, and is currently attending DePaul University in Chicago, pursuing a BFA in Lighting Design.
Dylan Jost (Technical Director) is relatively new to Chicago. With 7 months in he has worked on two major sets for the Court Theatre. When he is not building sets you can usually find him acting on them. His Chicago credits include Brad in Minimalistic Men part of Bruschetta 2011 with the Appetite Theatre company, Hugo in The Exiled with Harvest Arts Inc., and as an understudy for the role of Aaron in Hesperia at The Writers’ Theatre. He is glad to be working on his second project with Charlie McGrath and Claire Winkleblack.
Anna Miles (Costume Design) is a student at Northwestern University, where she is currently studying theatre and creative writing. She is a 2009 recipient of the Frank H. and Eva Buck Foundation Scholarship. Anna participated in many YPC productions, including Twelfth Night (Viola) and The Tale (Artemis), the latter of which toured to Greece in 2007. Anna appeared on the STC Mainstage in Christmas Carol, To Kill a Mockingbird (Scout), and Treasure Island (Jim Hawkins). This Spring Anna will join nine fellow students in launching a free Shakespeare training workshop for local middle school students. After graduation in 2013 from Northwestern, Anna hopes to return to California to earn her MFA and plans on eventually acting with regional theatres on the West Coast; her ultimate dream is to become a company member of the Oregon Shakespeare Festival.
Robert P. Lloyd (Sound Designer) is thrilled to be working on ProudKate Theatre Project’s production of The Ruby Sunrise! This production is his first professional production in Chicago. He recently graduated from Bradley University with a Major in Theatre Production and a Minor in Music. Robert has been Sound Designer for such productions as: Ragtime, The Adding Machine, The Bradley Oresteia, Pirates of Penzance, and Complete Works of Shakespeare Abridged, just to name a few, as well as Associate Sound Designer for The Tempest this past February, a production that toured to Loyla. Next up is Sound Design for Ka-Tet’s production of Salt of the Earth in July 2012.
Emily Poitras (Production Assistant) is a recent graduate of Butler University with a BA in Communication Studies and French. After spending four years in Indianapolis, she is thrilled to be back in a vibrant city like Chicago. She is a lover of the arts – particularly film and theater, and she hopes to go to graduate school in the next few years to study film. Emily spent much of her high school years performing and working in the theater in plays such as Into the Woods and Over the Tavern and she is very excited to be working with ProudKate Theater Project on Ruby Sunrise.
Melissa Schlesinger (Props Design ans Scenic Artist) is a multi-disciplinary theatrical designer and technician who’s excited to be on board with The Ruby Sunrise. She studied Theatre Production at Bradley University, where she also minored in Studio Art. Her work has been seen all around town from carpentry work with Shattered Globe to sound designs at the Raven and Den theatres. Other Chicago Companies she has worked for include Babes with Blades, Filament Theatre Ensemble, Promethean Theatre Ensemble, Vaudezilla, and Zombie Army Productions. Azael Salgado (Graphic Designer) is a graduate from Luther College In Iowa with a Double degree of Creative Writing and Theater. He has worked both in the spotlight and behind the scenes in various show during his Undergrad. As part of his training he worked to have large knowledge of marketing and visual design and has used in with small private companies in California. This will be the first production he has worked in since moving to Chicago. And he is thankful for the opportunity.
